Project
Introduction
Your final project is a demonstration of your mastery of the concepts and skills discussed in the class. You can choose a program evaluation topic of your own interest. I also post below some sample topics.
Sample evaluation topics
- What are the impacts of ARPA-E programs?
- Is the EPA’s Clean Air Act worth it?
- How can we prepare for Governors Island development projects to be evaluable?
Proposal
Please submit a one-page proposal briefly explaining why you chose the topic, what data and analytic methods you plan to use, and any potential challenges and how you would address them.
Presentation
Your presentation should be about 15–20 minutes long summarizing your work.
Your presentation will be graded by the following criteria:
- Nice presence [4pt]
- Clear presentation of project ideas and insights [4pt]
- Mastery of the subject [4pt]
- Presentation design and style [4pt]
- Overall impression [4pt]
Final project
A typical program evaluation report includes an introduction of the program, scope of evaluation, proposed approach and evidence, and conclusions and recommendations. Your evaluation report should be double spaced, 10 pages long, excluding appropriately cited references.
Your evaluation report will be graded by the following criteria:
- Clear description of the program for evaluation [5pt]
- Rigorous analysis [5pt]
- Clear writing, presentation, visualization [5pt]
- Overall impression [5pt]
