Receiving the Sandi Cooper Award for Outstanding Research for Associate Professors
Summary
I am honored to receive the Sandi Cooper Award for Outstanding Research for Associate Professors for 2026–2027. Thank you CUNY Academy for this recognition.
I greatly appreciate Professor Ryan Smith’s nomination and Professors Daniel Kammen and Jiang Lin, for their reference letters. I also thank many colleagues at Baruch College, the Graduate Center, and across CUNY for their support.
About the Award
The Jerome Krase & Sandi Cooper Awards are new awards from CUNY Academy, to be presented each year to associate professors at CUNY in recognition of outstanding research in the humanities or sciences, including social and life sciences. The awardees are selected among a large group of nominees of associate professors from all CUNY campuses and receive university-wide recognition of their work.

CUNY full-time faculty across all campuses are members of the CUNY Academy and can participate in, organize, or suggest events.
